Featured attractions
Camelback Mountain
One of the region’s most recognized landmarks. At 2,700 feet, it’s an excellent hike or climb. The two primary routes are Cholla and Echo Canyon; both are strenuous and not generally suited for beginners.
Papago Park
A municipal park listed on the National Register of Historic Places, with hiking, fishing, and the Papago Golf Course.

Hole in the Rock
A striking series of natural openings eroded into a small red rock hill at Papago Park. A smoothly ascending path leads behind the hill to the main chamber.
Taliesin West
Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and school from 1937–1959; now home to The School of Architecture and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. Public tours explore indoor and outdoor spaces, including Wright’s private quarters, the Garden Room, and the drafting room.

Old Town Scottsdale
One of the Southwest’s most vibrant downtowns with pedestrian-friendly streets lined with galleries, museums, restaurants, shops, and lively nightlife.
McDowell Sonoran Preserve
Over 30,000 acres along Scottsdale’s eastern edge, offering 100+ miles of trails across a remarkably diverse desert environment. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, guided rock climbing, and off-roading tours. Six trailheads feature expansive views; the Bajada Nature Trail offers kid-friendly activities.
